The University of Piraeus

The University of Piraeus (UniPi; Greek: Πανεπιστήμιο Πειραιώς, ΠαΠει) is a Greek public university located in Piraeus, Athens, Greece with a total of ten academic departments.

The University of Piraeus has the second-oldest business school established in Greece, while the Department of Banking and Financial Management is the country's oldest academic department in the area of finance.

The university was founded in 1938 by the Industrialists and Tradesmen Association under the name "School for Industrial Studies" and its original aim was the advanced training of managerial executives. In 1945, it was renamed to the "Higher School for Industrial Studies", while in 1958 it was renamed again as the "Graduate School for Industrial Studies" and its seat was established in Piraeus. Since then, the university has evolved from its original sole focus on business management and added additional academic fields, such as economics, finance, maritime studies, informatics, tourism studies and statistics.

e-Nable Greece

E-Nable Greece is a support group that believes that our limitations can reveal our uniqueness. We design simple devices (accessories, assistive prosthetic devices, educational kits) for every need and every person who deals with body disability of upper limb or visual impairment. Our designs focus on social inclusion, increase of participation in social activities, enhancement of everyday life and improvement of education. These devices are constructed with 3D Printing technology and delivered to recipients at No Cost for them. e-Nable Greece trains individuals related with people with disabilities (their teachers, families, friends) and every person interested in the utilization of 3D Printing, 3D scanning and Mechatronics in order to contribute to the reduction of social exclusion of vulnerable groups. e-Nable Greece promotes the engagement of all citizens to actions with great social impact to their local communities and moreοver supports the European objective for social inclusion. e-Nable Greece is a member of Athens Coordination Center for Migrants and Refugees, of the European network Let Her In (which supports European Citizens with a special focus on women) and European Network of Innovation for Inclusion.

Founded in 1814, the Turin Institute for the Deaf works from its foundation with deaf people, deaf people with multiplier disability and blind people from kindergarten to adult age. It is really involved in the training of educators facing the education of pupils with sensorial disabilities. The Turin Institution for the Deaf is an institution providing a wide range of services and activities, for deaf, hard of hearing and other linguistic and cognitive impaired children and adults, such as:
- Adult education for deaf and hard of hearing;
- Vocational training and vocational guidance for young deaf , blind, autistic and other disabled adult students;
- Speech therapy and SLI programs and early intervention programs;
- Recognized National Provider of training for teachers;
- Home housing for deaf adults at risk of multiple discriminations;
- Kindergarten for Deaf and hearing children;
- Special need teachers and educators service in mainstream schools supporting students in collaboration with the local social services and school authorities;
- Specialized library and documentation center for teachers and parents;
- Special projects for the inclusion of deaf people in the society in the view of universal accessibility, with a focus on museum and cultural institutions;
- Projects with the Universities in the fields of researches, language rehabilitation and social services; European and international projects;
- Specialized mentoring and tutoring for students with disabilities enrolled in the 3 public universities of the region;
- Language classes: Italian, English, sign languages;
- Sensorial Garden;
- European Solidarity Corps;
- Counseling to public employment services.

European Development Foundation

European Development Foundation is a Bulgarian NGO, established in 2011. Its mission is to work for civil society development, creation of programmes and organisation of events, supporting innovative practices, education and training of children and young people. The Foundation also aims to social integration of vulnerable members of society.

European Development Foundation is the only one Bulgarian organisation, which became a member of Social Firms Europe (CEFEC) network. CEFEC is the only network of Social Firms across Europe. In 2021 experts from EDF, like a members of CEFEC, took part in CIRCLE project in Tanzania, Africa. We participated in a training with 45 masai widows to teach them how to develop their Start-up in the village of Moshono – Arusha – Tanzania.

European Development Foundation is one of the partner established Let Her In international network. Let Her In is made up of public and private organisations, each with their specific expertise and experience, ready to share their knowledge, skills and values and collaborate with organizations that invest in human capital in order to eliminate the obstacles that women encounter in their equal educational, labour, political, social and civic participation in order to eliminate the obstacles that women encounter in their equal educational, labour, political, and social environments.

Since 2012 the Foundation has had an agreement with the Bulgarian Employment Agency at the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and has organised training in the areas of foreign languages (English, Russian, German and Greek) and soft skills. We have been involved in the development of online educational platforms and of a variety of digital learning tools supporting non-formal education. 

Our future goals are to continue working in the fields of youth initiatives, creation of inclusion environments for kids with disabilities, continuous education and cultural exchange, and to create regional consultative and educational centres for young people.

OpenEurope

The Association of Educational programmes OpenEurope is an NGO with the main office in Reus (Spain), offering directly informal and non-formal learning opportunities to young people and adults and helping them participate in European programmes. It also aims at promoting citizens participation in social projects and programmes at a local level (cultural integration, volunteering).
At this moment, the association has 2570 individual members, a network of 28 primary and secondary schools and kindergartens, a network of 6 NGOs and a municipal group of 8 city councils.

The organisation works at a local, national and international level organising many different activities for educators and learners, professionals in the fields of formal, non-formal and informal education and training. One of its main goals is to promote European mobility, targeting those who want to acquire knowledge about new ways of teaching and learning.

OpenEurope offer training in different fields:
• Adult education: language courses, including conversational classes and preparation for Cambridge exams; cooking and dancing classes for learners of various ages
• School education: pedagogical assistance, extracurricular activities of foreign languages, creativity, theatre for school children; psychological support for teachers and school staff; classes of Catalan/Spanish for parents with immigrant background; mediation
• Community networking: project development and management for youth centres centres of the Tarragona province, trainings for volunteers and community workers
OpenEurope has an Information and Communication Technologies department, which creates educational platforms, online courses and websites.
